About Demore Demerrier

Hi there my name is Christine and welcome to Demore Demerrier!

Growing up, my family used to use our last name as a welcoming joke stating, "Demore Demerrier." I applied this phrase to my art and craft work over the years as an encouragement to myself and others that creativity can be about trying more things with a community of people.

I started painting abstract acrylic on canvas art after a mental health crisis in 2017. I saw some videos online about acrylic pour painting and knew it was something I wanted to try. From there, I have learned as an artist, I don't stay in one lane and have explored fiber arts through knitting, crochet, and felting, jewelry making, drawing, and most recently paper crafts like junk journaling.

My current focus is on curating interesting, inspiring images and paper to be used for collage, junk journal, or other paper crafts. I collect paper and images from fliers, used books, magazines, and discount paper collections. This results in an eclectic collection of colours and patterns, as well as food, people, scenery, and general ephemera.
